Good Deeds

The Good Deeds Charitable Committee was organized to observe nationally recognized service or volunteer days. Good Deed volunteers recognize three such days throughout the year. The first two of these days are self-initiating. That is, community members are responsible what they do to commemorate the day. The last day, involves the efforts of volunteers who sign up to help nonprofit agencies of Green Valley for half a day.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers live longer, build strong relationships; network with others, and provide a sense of purpose. Green Valley, Arizona, is a community of volunteers who give to back to the community. Over the past generations, while the commitment has remained strong, the way communities volunteer is changing. Good Deeds Days offers members of the community an opportunity to help others without a long-term commitment. Volunteers need not sign up for every volunteer day, but can do so as their time, interests and schedules permit. This type of volunteering better corresponds to the lifestyle of the newly retired and younger generations who are today’s volunteers.

The Good Deeds Committee of the GVC Foundation, Inc. along with The Green Valley Council invites you to:

Connect with your neighbor. Introduce yourself and say “hello”
Invite your neighbors to join you for something fun. Gather around for a beverage.
Celebrate milestones in the lives of others, cheer them on and congratulate them.
Be Aware. Keep your eyes and ears open. Stay attentive to the safety and security of the people and homes near you. We are safer and stronger together.
Be Available. Show up to help and support your neighbors.
